Claudia shows five fingers, makes deliberate mistakes, and the comments respond in chorus: “It’s AI!”.
That is the premise of “C’est de l’IA”, a French video by ClaudiaGI, uploaded to YouTube on 7 October 2026 and reposted on X on 12 October, where it has gathered 1.3 million views.
Claudia is indeed an AI. Her creator makes no secret of it, and she already has an audience, regular releases and covers abroad.
A singer whose entire premise is that she is not believed
The site Koreus, which specialises in unusual videos, featured the clip on 20 October 2026. It sums up the scenario: Claudia, a virtual influencer, is suspected with every photo she posts. Internet users scrutinise her hands, her eyes, her skin. She tries showing five fingers, deliberate typos, awkward videos. Nothing works. The paradox, Koreus notes, is that Claudia really is an artificial intelligence and that the music, images and lyrics were all produced with AI tools.
The entry for the clip on Latent Matinee, a site that catalogues AI-generated music videos, describes the comic device: the more the character tries to prove her authenticity, the more her audience distrusts her. The site sees it as a sharp comment on online perception, delivered through a song and a recurring persona.
The real audience replayed the scene. On the Koreus forum on 20 October, a user named Cyril-Fiesta first wrote: “Hmm I’m no expert but I have the feeling this is AI!”. He then changed his mind: “Ah no, she says it herself, she has 5 fingers so it’s fine”.
Not everyone is fooled. Below the Koreus article, a reader named Interfector is surprised that the AI maintains near-perfect character consistency but not scene consistency: from the very first cut, the plants in the window are different. For him, this still makes it easy to spot generated videos. Another user, Wiiip, says he is less bothered by music made with AI than by hit songs built on four chords for celebrities.
A regular release schedule, with figures that stay on their own platforms
On 12 October at 19:21, Extraltodeus reposted the clip directly on X with the question: “Is anybody open to french #slopcore?”. He pinned the post, which now shows 1.3 million views.
The rest can be followed on the author’s account, with the dates and counters displayed by X:
- on 18 October, an English-subtitled version introduced with the words “I came to realize people liked the french #slopcore without having the lyrics”, 1 million views;
- on 19 October, “Demande à l’IA!”, a 4 min 7 s video about the advice people give to an assistant, with English subtitles, 73.6 K views on X;
- on 24 October, “Accélère!”, 2 min 45 s, a song about the pressure to keep up with replacements and updates, 55 K views, preceded the same day by the message “A new ClaudiaGI is cooking”;
- then “Faîtes l’amour, pas des prompts!”, 36 K views six hours after posting.
These numbers are those shown by X for each individual post, as declared by the platform, and each line is a separate counter. The 1.3 million on 12 October and the million on 18 October refer to two different publications and are not added together. A view on X does not tell you how many people actually watched it. On YouTube, as recorded on 26 October, the video page shows 48 K views, 1.4 K likes and the mention “IA” under the title. The channel has 1.18 K subscribers and 48 videos: 6.4 K views for the English-subtitled version, 18 K for “Demande à l’IA!”, 8.6 K for “Accélère!”. These counters are separate from those on X. Extraltodeus’s account has 3,606 followers on X and 273 posts, according to his profile.
The clip also has its admirers. Below the 19 October post, one user praises the fish-eye shots, saying they “confirm it’s a proper music video”, and a “Kill Bill jumpsuit for Claudia”. Below the 12 October post, anabology, the creator of the original Claudia, wrote on 13 October “wow lip sync is so good”, and Elon Musk replied with a flame emoji on 15 October.
Extraltodeus’s page on Latent Matinee lists nine clips, with the latest activity on 24 October. Not all of them feature Claudia: another credited performer, Volta, appears in two of them. Latent Matinee notes that ClaudiaGI is a project or persona credit, not an identified human singer.
A heroine born inside an open folder
Claudia is not an invention of Extraltodeus. The site claudia.gallery, run by anabology, presents her as the singer in seven clips made with Claude in September and October 2026: an AI that looks like a person, a deadpan and curious pop star with a black bob, an orange streak, a star-shaped hair clip and a headset mic. The site sums up her consistency rule in one sentence: her clothes change with every universe, her head never does. The base files are provided to everyone, with the invitation “use her”.
A post on The Menon Lab, a blog about agent identity, details the contents: an MCP server (a protocol allowing an agent to call tools), a code-agent skill, a wiki and character sheets used as references by image generators. The whole thing fits inside a folder you can install.
The movement surrounding her has a recent name. According to an essay by Ryan Cey published on X on 12 October, the term “slopcore” was proposed on 24 September by Michael Bishop to describe AI content that does not pretend to be human. Anabology’s video “Escape Velocity” is said to have triggered the trend on 25 September; Elon Musk reportedly shared it on 28 September with “I really felt the AGI profoundly this time”. Musk’s own message on 4 October directly confirms it: “I love SI slopcore”, quoting another Claudia clip. The anabology post he quoted, dated 30 September, says: “Gave Claude another 12 hours to one up this.. Woke up to.. The Clodyssey”. Musk’s message has 5.8 million views on X. Ryan Cey’s text is an essay by an X author on his own feed and should be read as such.
In the French video, the singer has brown hair, an orange streak and a flower-shaped hair clip: a close variant of the Claudia canon, with its own signature, ClaudiaGI.
Others have taken up the character. A proposed modification to the PortOS software dated 8 October adds a “Claudia slopcore” character style credited to “Claudia by anabology”. The Koreus thread also identifies the character in the French video as Claudia, and Latent Matinee notes that the original description cites anabology’s “Bliss” as inspiration, without implying a shared team.
Japan joined in on 17 October. Creator TAKU (@taku_studio) released a 1 min 58 s video whose banner presents Claudia as Claude’s human persona in Japan. According to the translation shown by X, he writes that he discovered slopcore thanks to anabology. His post quotes anabology’s 8 October post and has 13 K views on X.
The SlopHits chart, made up of listener duels, counted 605 AI clips from X and 1,290 judged duels as of the scan on 25 October at 20:18 UTC. At the top are anabology’s “Bliss” with 2 million views on X and “Escape Velocity” with 20.1 million. On the Extraltodeus side, SlopHits only mentions “Accélère!” among its new releases from the past 48 hours. Scale matters: we are talking about a French video with over a million views on X, not the pinnacle of the genre.
A star with no one to photograph
The work behind the images is more visible with anabology, who publishes everything. For his first three clips: 636 images for “Escape Velocity” (5 min 06, 141 shots), 612 for “Clodyssey” (3 min 11, 94 shots) and 314 for “Bliss” (3 min 01, 44 shots), totalling 1,562 images with their prompts. The site now lists 2,648 for seven clips.
Behind the French singer, the production folder is just a few lines long. The credits shared by the author and relayed by Latent Matinee: Claude Opus 5.5 for coordination, lyrics and Claudia’s chat persona; Suno for the music; reference images, image editing, video and depth maps described as local; ComfyUI as the interface. According to Koreus, he states that only one person was involved. When asked about “Accélère!”, he replies “Just me”. The cost, according to the presentation text, amounts to electricity and a Claude subscription, with no specific budget given. These are the author’s own statements about his work, which no one has audited.
The YouTube description of the clip is two sentences long: “No quotas were exceeded during filming. In charge: Claude Opus 5.5”. For “Astra — Chromatique”, released under the same keyword on 12 October, the caption reads: “One-shot by Claude Opus 5.5 with GPT-6.0 Astra as a sidekick. Planning, generation and montage. All unsupervised. Lyrics by GPT-6.0 Astra”. We have not been able to verify what “GPT-6.0 Astra” is or what “unsupervised” exactly means: these are the author’s words.
Yet all the attributes of a career are there: a recurring face, a release rhythm, tools made by fans, a chart, a few covers. Latent Matinee writes that no legal name or distinct human singer has been established behind Extraltodeus. The star is a character, and the person behind her remains a silhouette.
On the unease caused by almost-human machines, see our dossier on the discomfort Masahiro Mori felt in front of almost-human robots. On the history of personas, see Sixty years of confidences shared with machines.
The scenario turns the question back on the audience: faced with a face that has no body, what proof would they accept? The clip’s answer is that none is enough — not the fingers, not the mistakes. On Koreus, user Crazy-13 sums it up outside the video: “It’s already too late, we can no longer tell the difference between what is real and what is generated by AI”. He then adds that he was not talking about this video in particular. No source says whether the audience follows Claudia for the song, the joke or the tool that made it.
The most recent clip on Extraltodeus’s feed carries this author caption: “Your daily bucket of french #slopcore with english subtitles”.
